Operations Center SupervisorThe Facility Services Department is focused on maintaining a safe, clean, and effective environment for the Laboratory community, as well as providing the infrastructure that aligns with and supports the research initiatives in a high-quality and cost-effective manner. The FSD Operations team provides the hands-on skill and expertise to enable stewardship of the facilities. The team is responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of electrical and mechanical systems, HVAC, grounds, custodial, construction, wastewater treatment, and more.Job DescriptionSupervision of three building automation programmers and four console operators in the Facility Service Department (FSD) Operations Center. Provide system administrative responsibilities for Facility Management Systems (FMS) which include: Toxic Gas Monitoring System (TGMS), Fire alarm systems, Building Management System (BMS), Chilled Water Plant Control system, Power monitoring system, Data historian (DataLINC), Security intrusion detection systems, Security access control system and CCTV. Provide assistance to commissioning and air balancing efforts. Oversee, manage, and collaborate with internal customers on environmental control issues throughout the complex with special emphasis on laboratories, clean rooms, computer rooms and Mission Assurance Level One areas. Administration of preventive maintenance (PM) and testing of the TGMS, which includes repairs, PM, gas challenging, and all aspects of system administration and health. Provide daily coordination with Security Services Department (SSD) to coordinate response to all repairs, some project coordination of physical intrusion detection & access control hardware, CCTV systems, and the Security Operations Center. Regular interaction with project managers, shop supervisors, and outside contractors, for ongoing construction projects and maintenance issues. Play key role in planning for semi-annual site utility shutdowns and all other outages. Lead team response to unplanned utility outages. Collaborate with the FSD Energy Manager to coordinate with Engineering, O&M, and utility providers in the areas of power monitoring, utility outages and Demand Response electric utility curtailment program. Provide management oversight for monthly testing of emergency generators and power switching and distribution systems. Provide direction to BMS, security, fire alarm and other service vendor??s technical staff for on-site programming and configuration of the site wide building systems. Provide technical input and operational support on many mechanical and electrical equipment startups.Job Requirements:Bachelor??s degree in engineering or facilities management.Minimum of ten years?? experience in a facilities and/or laboratory environment.Experience with building mechanical and HVAC systems.Training and knowledge of gasses used in the semi-conductor industry.Familiarity with instrumentation and controls design, selection, programming, wiring, debugging, start up and testing.
